For Resources Analyst Charlie Long from Beaufort Securities, coking coal miner Prairie Mining (PDZ.L) is a stock where its autumn acquisition was well greeted by the market. Ahead of news regarding funding for this mining from China, which could support 80% of the project, we are seeing perceptions change in favour of the company, with the £50m market value company potentially seeing a 50p a share valuation over the next few months. ASX listed Energia Minerals was also in Long’s site as a world class zinc sulphide miner, formerly owned by Eni. This Milan based producer appears to be a solid prospect. At the top of the mining sector all the miners started to outperform according to Long, boosted by China GDP numbers.
